A Boot Collector Feature
Armando Duarte Rios put 45 years of experience into every pair out of the shop his uncle Abraham Rios once ran as Raymondville's biggest.
Abraham Rios once ran the biggest bootmaking shop in Raymondville, Texas, serving area ranches including the King Ranch. His nephew, Armando Duarte Rios, carried the business forward under the Armando's Boot Company name, putting 45 years of experience into every pair, according to a Texas Monthly feature on the state's top custom bootmakers. The feature called out fancy inlay work and nimble stitching running up to ten rows wide, with pairs at the time starting around $420 and an eight-to-ten week turnaround.
Decades of fine inlay and multi-row stitching carried down through a Raymondville bootmaking family, with clients that have included former Texas governor Mark White, former House Speaker Gib Lewis, actors Sean Penn and Peter Coyote, and country singer Willie Nelson.
Forty-five years of experience in every pair, out of Raymondville.
