The Story

Azulado boots are sold through Allens Boots, the South Congress landmark in Austin, which carries the line as its own collection alongside Azulado belts. Collectors connect the brand closely to Allens itself. As they tell it, Azulado surfaced after Allens parted ways with Old Gringo, long one of the store's biggest lines, and before Allens began putting its own name on boots with the Allens Brand in 2018. That would make Azulado a bridge between the two eras, though we haven't found a published account confirming the timeline.

What They're Known For

Fashion-forward Western boots for women and men, in snip and round toes. Recent styles carry names like Annie, Granada, Lillie, Little Joe, and Tracy, in suedes, lizard, and distressed and pearlized finishes with names such as Mad Dog, Perlato, and Glamour. The look and the finishes sit close to the decorated, distressed-leather style Old Gringo made popular, which fits the story collectors tell.

Pairs from smaller, custom, or long-closed makers rarely come up for sale, so this search may not find anything. It’s worth checking back now and then.
