The Story

Evenin' Star was founded in 1986 in Rockport, Texas, by Steve Clarkson and Roy Shafer, after a very specific complaint: both men's wives were tired of standard Western boots being too stiff and heavy to actually dance in. Rather than accept it as a tradeoff, Clarkson and Shafer built a boot around comfort first — lightweight, soft, and flexible in a category that had rarely prioritized any of those things.

What They're Known For

A boot built specifically for country and Western dancing, which has carried the brand well beyond the dance floor — professional cheerleading squads for the Denver Broncos, Dallas Cowboys, Indianapolis Colts, and San Francisco 49ers have worn them, along with dancers who've appeared on Dancing with the Stars. The same flexibility and comfort that works on a dance floor has also made the boots popular for everyday work and social wear among people who want a Western boot that doesn't fight back.

Built to solve one specific complaint — Western boots that couldn't actually dance — and it worked well enough to reach NFL sidelines.
