A Boot Collector Feature

A 2007 startup built on a simple bet: that Western boots could be designer pieces without losing what made them Western in the first place.

The Story

Lane Boots launched in 2007 with Texas roots and a specific mission: to "break away from the norm and create designer quality boots with western influences," rather than compete head-on with either the heritage bootmakers or the mass-market retailers already in the space. Manufacturing happens in León, Mexico, and since late 2013 the brand has run its own dedicated factory there rather than contracting production out.

The line has grown well past boots alone since launch, expanding into booties, mules, loafers, accessories, and apparel, with a run of celebrity collaborations and retail partnerships along the way.

What They're Known For

Designer-leaning Western style aimed at a fashion-conscious buyer rather than a working rancher or a traditionalist collector — hundreds of styles deep, with a catalog that treats the Western boot as a fashion category to design within rather than a tradition to replicate.

Nearly two decades into treating the Western boot as a design category rather than a strict tradition.
