A Boot Collector Feature
An El Paso custom shop that built a loyal Texas Hill Country following from its Fredericksburg storefront, and recently joined forces with one of Austin's best-known Western retailers.
L.M. Easterling Custom Boot Company was established in El Paso, Texas in 1992, building custom boots in the city with one of the deepest concentrations of bootmaking talent anywhere in the state. Five years later, in 1997, the company opened a retail storefront in Fredericksburg, in the Texas Hill Country, which became the public face of the business for most collectors and buyers who encountered the name.
In 2023, L.M. Easterling became part of Allens Boots, the longtime Austin retailer that has itself grown from a pure retail operation into its own bootmaker in recent years. The acquisition brought a working custom-boot program directly into Allens' own stable of capabilities.
A straightforward promise, stated directly in the company's own materials: the best-fitting, best-looking, best-quality pair of custom boots it can build. Three decades of operating out of El Paso's bootmaking ecosystem back that claim up, and the 2023 move into Allens' ownership gives the brand a second life as part of a larger, growing Texas retailer.
