A Boot Collector Feature
Two sisters raised on a West Texas cattle ranch, later seasoned by New York City, built a luxury boot brand that splits the difference between both worlds.
Miron Crosby was founded by sisters Lizzie Means Duplantis and Sarah Means Ward, who grew up on their family's West Texas cattle ranch before spending years living and working in New York City. The brand's name carries both halves of that story: "Miron" comes from their great-grandfather, Marion Otis Means, a cattleman the family remembers as the ultimate gentleman, while "Crosby" references both a pasture on the family ranch and a favorite street in New York's SoHo neighborhood. The sisters started in Dallas and have since opened additional locations in Highland Park Village, Aspen, Houston, and Charlotte. Every pair is still handmade by master artisans in Mercedes, Texas, and León, Mexico — the same bootmaking hubs behind much of the custom trade — cut, stitched, and lasted by hand.
Cowboy boots built with, as the brand puts it, more fashion than Western — ready-made styles plus a concierge design service for full customization. The brand has drawn coverage from WWD, Vogue, the Today Show, Elle, and Harper's Bazaar, helping push cowboy boots further into mainstream fashion over the past several years.
