A Boot Collector Feature
Caboots' answer to its own months-long waitlist: the same all-leather, handmade standard, retro styling and pop-culture flair, built in weeks instead of a season.
Rancho Loco is a product line built by Caboots, the fourth-generation El Paso bootmaker whose own history (Fort Bliss cobbling, a Sanchez family running the shop since the 1920s and '30s, boots for Pirates of the Caribbean and KISS) has its own full feature in this series. Rancho Loco exists to solve a problem the main Caboots line can't: not everyone wants to wait months, or pay full custom prices, for a boot with real personality.
The line uses precision die-cut inlays in place of hand-tooled work, all-leather construction, and retro-inspired styling to deliver, as the shop puts it, "custom quality without the custom wait." Named designs lean hard into nostalgia and pop culture — pairs called Top Gun Maverick, Las Vegas, Pearl Pee Wee, and Bluebird show up in the lineup — aimed at buyers who want heritage-style construction and a boot with a story, without the season-long timeline of a fully bespoke pair.
Turnaround runs three weeks if components are already on hand, up to two months for a full build — a fraction of the wait for the main Caboots custom line — at a starting price roughly a third to half of typical full-custom cost. It's positioned deliberately as the accessible front door to Caboots' broader craftsmanship: the same family, the same materials standard, a faster and more affordable way in.
Same family, same leather standard, a much shorter wait — Rancho Loco is how Caboots meets a customer who doesn't want to wait a season for personality.
