A Boot Collector Feature
A fifth-generation English footwear family whose suede chukka boots got a very famous endorsement — from James Bond.
William and Thomas Sanders founded their footwear company in 1873 in Rushden, Northamptonshire — a town long associated with English shoemaking. The company has operated from its Spencer Road factory since 1924, after fire destroyed the original premises, and remains family-owned, now run by the fifth generation of the Sanders family. The brand's biggest modern moment of fame came through film rather than footwear trade press: Daniel Craig wore Sanders snuff suede hi-top chukka boots as James Bond in Spectre, a detail that reportedly led Craig to buy multiple pairs for himself afterward.
Classic English chukka boots and suede shoes, built with generations of shoemaking tradition behind them — a different lineage from the Western bootmakers that make up most of this series, but a name worth knowing all the same.
English heritage footwear, five generations and counting.
