A Boot Collector Feature
A Lucchese-trained bootmaker building custom boots under his own name in El Paso, the boot capital of the world.
Mario Garcia trained at Lucchese, the century-old bootmaker that moved its operations to El Paso in 1986, and now builds custom boots under his own name as Custom Boots by MG, based in the El Paso area. Like a number of El Paso bootmakers who learned the trade inside the city’s big factories, he went on to work independently, building pairs to order for individual customers.
He also takes his fittings on the road. Western boutiques host custom boot events where customers can book a fitting and design consultation with him in person, so a pair can be measured and designed far from El Paso.
Made-to-measure cowboy boots designed with the customer at a fitting, built with the training of one of the industry’s best-known houses behind them.

Pairs from smaller, custom, or long-closed makers rarely come up for sale, so this search may not find anything. It’s worth checking back now and then.
